WITH BEST WISHES, TRUMPETS AND FIREWORKS IN 2015

 With trumpets, countdown of the last seconds of the old 2014 year, the sky above Palilula was lit up with the very impressive fireworks. The champagne was opened. This was followed by greetings with best wishes in 2015. According to tradition, the people present gathered and danced traditional Serbian kolo dance round with the sounds of trumpet orchestra soloist Goran Cekic and Slobodan Sejdić, `Merak`(good times, no matter what) is priceless! New Year's Eve 2015 outdoors in Palilula, in the opinion of the citizens present was the `most beautiful gift`of that Municipality for all those who did not have another opportunity to celebrate in other way or snowy picture was the inspiration to get out of their warm homes.

NEW YEAR'S NIGHT WITH ``FIVE STAR RADIO``

 After good time and musicians and bohemians, during New Year's Eve "at the heart Palilula" has appeared Musician / Band Five Star Radio. PORTRAIT IN HONOR OF COKALIJA GREAT ANNIVERSARY

 President of Palilula, Boban Džunić during New Year program celebration of New 2015, presented the picture - portrait "everyone feels good with Cokalija" to Zivorad Isaković- Cokalija, artwork by Aleksandar Blatnik.
Sixty years of artistic work of Uncle Žika Cokalija is a big jubilee of legend of Nis Palilula. We wanted in this way to express our gratitude - stressed president Džunić. And on this occasion we want to say something about Aleksandar Blatnik, our outstanding cartoonist, designer, painter and architect, who is the author of the picture " everyone feels good with Cokalija". In his atelier in Palilula, near the head office of Palilula, he is tirelessly creating and constantly surprising us with his creativity. His works-portraits of our most famous actors, quite ordinary people, top athletes, have been exhibited throughout our country.

MY PALILULA IN NEW YEARS EVE - ŽIVORAD ISAKOVIĆ "COKALIJA"

 One of the participants in the New Year's program in Palilula, was Zivorad Isakovic-Cokalija, master of old town music, urban, folk and traditional songs.
This exceptional musician and a great person from Palilula celebrated at the end of 2014 his jubilee-60 years of his artwork.
Accompanied by NAISUS band, this legend of Palilula from Nis, sang a few iconic songs that have gained popularity throughout the region, all the way to America and Australia, thanks to our diaspora.

 During New Years programme that in Nis was organized this year by Palilula Municipality were the performers for the public of all generations. The attention of the gathered citizens and big applause was given to children ensemble KUD `Abrasevic`. Young children with the choreographer Mirjana Zdravkovic danced and performed with two circles of dances: local dances from Nis and then from Sumadija region.

PRESIDENT AND SANTA CLAUS GAVE PRESENTS IN THE NEW YEARS EVE

 With sleigh, Santa Claus came from Gornje Međurovo (KK "Nonius"), with gifts, and arrived to the very "heart of Palilula" somewhere around 21:00 hours.
Immediately he went to the center stage at the Palilula ramp-Palilula green market place, where New Year's program had already started.President of Palilula, Boban Džunić with Santa Claus, as it had been already announced, handed out gifts to the youngest citizens. Despite very cold weather, about 700 boys and girls, accompanied by their parents and grandparents-personally received New Year`s presents. President of Palilula wished to all children a happy and successful New Year 2015. After the speech, taking photos with Santa went on.

CHANGE OF TRANSPORT REGIME IN PALILULA

 Everything is ready for the organized celebration of New 2015 in Palilula Municipality. The program, at the Palilula market place, begins on December 31 at 19 00 hours and will last until 01:00 after midnight. The change of transport:
Due to organizing of New Year celebrations in Palilula, city lines in this part of the city from Tuesday, December 30 until midnight will be changed. This goes for line of 8 New Cemetery - Gabrovačka Reka and the circular line 34 in both directions will go round Palilula market place, where the stage will be set, and switch to alternative streets. Passenger cars will have to go around. The traffic will be normalized on 1 January to 15 00 hours.

Program of the New Year's Eve is organized as cabaret, we'll have Santa Claus with a wheeled cart and a musical program by local artists. We work very quickly because there is not much time. I do not want to burden the budget of the municipality or the City, so we are welcoming help of donors in this organization, "explains Džunić.

ADOPTED BUDGET AND GIVEN DATA PLAN APPROVAL GIVEN FOR THE REGULATION PLAN OF LANDFILL "BUBANJ"

 Palilula Municipality adopted a budget for 2015. It is about ten percent lower than this year and is about 156 million dinars. Palilula Municipality as well as other city municipalities in Nis passed on program budgeting instead of so far linear. Board members of the government and the opposition agree that this budget at the moment is only possible, but pointed to an unacceptable allocation of resources to other municipalities."The budget of Palilula Municipality is 13.8 million lower than in the previous year, and our ability to secure additional funds are limited, explained the president Boban Džunić.

PRIMARY SCHOOL "BRANKO MILJKOVIC" RECONSTRUCTION STARTED

 Reconstruction of classrooms and school building of Primary School "Branko Miljkovic" in Nis, after months of preparatory works, finally began. The works are performed by the construction company from Leskovac. With trilateral agreement, which was signed in mid-November in the Ministry of Economy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, with the contractors, the deadline for the completion of this investment is 180 calendar days. Half of the funds for this purpose, totaling just over 51 million, provided by the City of Niš, while the other half of the funds is to provide the relevant ministry.

PALILULA MUNICIPALITY IN `VECERNJE NOVOSTI` NEWSPAPER

 NIS - Although, with 80,000 inhabitants, the second largest of the five municipalities in the city on the river Nišava, Palilula by many other parameters, for years, is at the bottom of the poorest municipalities in Serbia. Devastated economy, tens of thousands of unemployed, the average wage of 28,000 dinars and 67 per cent of the total of 11,000 social cases cases in the whole Nis, are only some of the data that illustrate the grim reality of this urban municipality. Two-thirds of people from Palilula is from urban area - including about 4,000 Roma people in unhygienic living conditions - and the rest of the population live in 15 rural settlements, with mostly elderly households.
